Eastleigh and its traffic.

I find it odd that our local council are approving building schemes left right and centre, seemingly as fast as the planning permission is applied for. The latest we see, is the demolition of the former 'Earth' nightclub (no loss there!) in the centre of town, which is going to be turned into 60+ flats, with business accomodation and retail outlets. This is a couple of hundred yards away from the new development in Wells Place.
Any of you unfortunate enough to have to commute through Eastleigh during the day will notice the horrendous increase in traffic over the last two years now using Leigh Road/Southampton Road and Fair Oak Road. This is despite the railway works closing - god forbid it were still open or Eastleigh would fast be gridlocked. What exactly are the local Lib - Dem council doing about road improvements. Recent additions in traffic calming measures have clearly made things worse, and this trend can only continue with the amount of new homes and businesses the councillers are encouraging.
